This energy and water saving toolkit designed by Silicon Valley Energy Watch (SVEW) is for homeowners to checkout from their local library to use in their house allowing them to take charge of their home's energy and water use and reduce their utility bills.
*Each toolkit contains: toolbox, pliers, flow gauge measuring bag & toilet leak detecting tablets, thermal leak detector, thermometer, Kill-A-Watt meter, thread sealant tape, painter's tape, refrigerator and freezer thermometer, drip gauge, low flow shower head, low flow bathroom faucet aerator, low flow kitchen faucet aerator, 2 LED bulbs 60W equivalent, weather stripping, outlet gaskets, and user guide.
*Checkout: Patrons must have a Full or Limited Access Sunnyvale Public Library card to borrow.
*Returns: Must be returned directly to library staff at the service desk.
Tools to be returned to the library are the Kill-A-Watt meter, infrared laser thermometer, refrigerator thermometer, painter's tape, thermometer, drip gauge, pliers, any pipe thread seal tape that is left over after installation, water flow rate bag, leaky faucet and toilet guide, and cardboard box that contains LED bulbs.
Equipment that can be kept for installation: 2 LED bulbs 60W equivalent, outlet gaskets, low-flow showerheads, 3 low-flow faucet aerators, weather stripping, and water leak detection dye.
Replacement costs for individual parts vary.
